Frankie – Crazy Thunder Badger

Frankie came to us back in November 2024 not long after we’d heartbreakingly suddenly lost our beloved tiny brave tiger Willow.
Frankie was part of a two-kitten feral rescue mission that we were contacted about. She came with a slightly younger (and we think non-blood related) female we’ve named Robin – but they were tightly bonded and found together.
She is rather large for her age and we believe that she is in part an angora tuxedo crossbreed.

Sadly we won’t ever really know much about their past months before we rescued them as is common in our “line of work” but now they have a secure, loving permanent safe home to thrive.

What we know:
Both ages were estimated to be 3 months when we collected them.
This is not possible as Frankie was much bigger – closer to a yearling and fully weaned with strong teeth and eager to eat anything she could find.

She is a lovely soft long haired black and white cow-patterned baby.
Her eyes are a strikingly lime green with piercing but slightly derpy stare.
The tiny toe-beans are a mix of black and pink.
She loves to be stroked and hugged but had an unfortunate accident before she was rescued – it seems, as she would not let anyone touch her lower back, even gently brushing fingertips over it. No physical damage was found when we did finally manage to check her fully but we think this will remain with her as a quirk throughout her life as she now does let you touch it but only once she realises that she is safe and secure.

She adores anything foodwise at all – except maybe some of the felix (non fagails). She loves all kinds of whiskas 1 Plus in jelly, gravy, aromatic sauce etc.
She is also a keen drys / biscuits muncher although I won’t fall for the “Mummy you didn’t give me anything” face and wailing / pacing when she’s sped through her wets and I’m only just handing out bowls of drys to Luna, Benny & Foxy! (okay, sometimes I do hand her a small pile of bits… shh)

Her absolute favourite thing to do at meal time is wait for Pearlys bowl and clean up any little flakes and crumbs of her wets.. If you don’t give the bowl for her to check for herself (even if completely scraped clean by Pearly) she wails and moans!

She has recently switched to a mainly wets diet as it fills her more, gives her better digestion and BOUNCE energy. She as I said above loves drys when she sees her family eating them but only occasionally has a full bowl in place of wets (when I’m in a mad rush).
She does however enjoy the occasional Dreamies, Tesco tasty pillow treat or felix goody treat. We don’t give these out very often anymore as they all seem to prefer very sporadic extras.

They all do enjoy a good Tesco Meat Stick each now and then :-).
Frankie has a cheeky naughtiness where she will lightly thwack your hand to grab treats or biscuits from you when she realises you’re about to dish / hand them out.
This is mostly in a playful manner although once or twice when I’ve been very sleepy after an all-nighter working she’s drawn a trickle of blood by yanking at my hand too vigorously. She immediate backs away and whimpers (indicating not only how sorry she is but heartbreakingly how they must have had previous… let’s just say… bad encounters before we had them!)

It’s almost a year after she joined the family (this being written 6th Oct 25), she is very active, playful and more comfortable and confident. She adores her knitted toys and snuggling up with her big sister Foxy. They wash each other, she’s even taught Foxy to play and they snuggle up interlocked using each other as pillows in bed or on the chairs in the cat room.

She originally lived in a bedroom house with Robin, as they came together etc as said previously. However once they’d settled in they were supposed to move in with Luna who had been alone since losing Willow last October. Sadly this didn’t go according to plan as Luna felt very scared of Frankie (who even at first arrival was already much bigger than poor baby Lu who was 5 years old!) so things went a little… noisily. No actual fighting but loud… disgruntled noising and poor Frankie would go and put herself at the furthest possible point in the house away from Luna – not from fear as such but with a look on her face of “oh… I will sit out of sight until she calms down and she might love me later” but this broke our hearts and felt unfair.

We sadly had to keep them separated except at supervised play times.
Obviously the more Robin spent time in with Luna this meant that poor Frankie was left alone to play with her toys etc until her baby sister would return – which as you can imagine would get more … “oh, you’ve come back HAVE you…” the more this went on… causing “big sibling rough play” the more time past which Robin just wasn’t big enough to defend herself against.

Then something weird happened.
Luna went in with Robin one day and refused to leave her smaller bedroom house. (not a surprise as it had been previously where Willow was when in her final days and previous to that it was Alby’s house and Lu had spent time there before)
BUT where would we put Frankie? She went in to Luna’s (previously Willow & Lunas) larger 2 storey house and in an odd twist of fates Foxy moved in with her and immediately bonded.
